Aiming to magically morph overnight into an airbrushed supermodel on the cover of a magazine is not how you’re going to gain control of your weight and your figure. But just what is your goal?

To work this out, you need to set your “right weight”. Your right weight is the weight you should be able to attain without the fear of piling on excess kilos when you resume a normal diet or eating routine.

So how do you figure out the right weight for you? I’ve developed a formula that will help you identify your genetically stable weight. This is the weight that you can reach, be happy with and have the best chance of maintaining.

How to find your perfect weight

  • How much did you weigh when you were 18 years old, without dieting?
  • How much did you weigh at your heaviest, excluding pregnancy weight?
  • How much did you weigh at your lightest after age 18, with or without having dieted?
  • What is your current weight?
Add together your answers to questions A and B and divide by 2. The result is Y. Add together your answers to questions C and D and divide by 2. The result is Z. Add Y and Z and divide by 2. This final number is your right weight. Read more...
